KNITTING PATTERN -- Pennon Shawl - P218

$7.70

“PENNON SHAWL” is a fun project that will hold your interest from beginning to end. I decided to work with just 2 complimentary colours, one quite dark and the other a light colour. I have worked the colour combination with different textures plus a fairly simple pattern added to the mix.

The different sections make it an interesting knit. No complicated techniques are used in this pattern, it is basically just super fun to knit. Each section contains fully written instructions. The finished shawl will make a great addition to your wardrobe, the shape is very easy to wear. Dress it up or down, casual or glamorous.
I had so much fun designing this shawl and hope you will enjoy knitting and wearing it as much as I did.

Designed for fingering weight yarn in 2 contracting colours, one dark and one light. I suggest working with a gradient for the dark colour.

Yarn used for this shawl was:

Multicoloured 4ply Sock yarn, 70% Wool, 30% Nylon - Colour (271 Pot Purri) each 100 g ball is approximately 400 m /438 yds. Grams: 105 g, Metres: 420 m, Yards: 460 yd.

Contrast Colour (CC) - Bendigo Woollen Mills.
4ply Scrumptious, 100% Superfine Wool - Colour (Lime wash – shade 7043) each 50 g ball is approximately 158 m /173 yds. Grams: 105 g, Metres: 330 m, Yards: 365 yd.

NEEDLES REQUIRED
3.5mm [US 4] circular or straight needles.

OTHER MATERIALS
Stitch marker.
Stitch holder (or scrap yarn).
Tapestry needle to sew in ends.

TENSION
Is not critical for this shawl, however a different gauge will affect the finished size and also amount of yarn required for the project.

Note: for my sample the gauge was:
20 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) worked on 3.5mm [US 4] needles in garter stitch after blocking.
